A great turn out for local Police and the community at Capalaba last Saturday as Police staged their Anti-Violence Day Out.
The Youth Anti-Violence Day Out’ was an initiative of Police and Redland City Council and saw scores of young people grabbing their skateboard, scooter or BMX and participating in the free competitions showing off their gnarly tricks.
Constable Steph Randolph says the turnout was better than Police had hoped.
“The day showcased a fantastic family-friendly event where everyone showed their support to Youth Anti-Violence. There was range of activities to participate in as well as giveaways, DJ music and a free sausage sizzle.”
“A number of community organisations and businesses showed their support and provided relevant information to the community including handing out ‘Walk away, Chill out’ stickers and wristbands.”
