Ensuring an Island community at the ready was the concept behind last Fridays’ open day for the Macleay Island Rural Fire Brigade, so the local the Macleay Island police made sure they were there as well.
Macleay Island police provided the local community with knowledge about services that are available within the local community.
Crime Stoppers and the Volunteer in Policing (ViPs) staff provided information on crime security, scam watch and the importance of reporting matters to police.
Redlands City Council Disaster Management team also attended the event and spoke with members of the community on the importance of being prepared for disasters.
The Macleay Island Rural Fire Brigade mascot ‘BUSHY’, made an appearance which was enjoyed by many of the attendees.
