Concerns over the state of our roads are a hot topic in the Redlands, and now the numbers are speaking for themselves.
Constantly congested Rickertt Road has tied fourth for the most ‘unroadworthy’ road in Queensland.
An RACQ survey released this week highlighted the poor condition of Rickertt Road at Ransome and the danger to cyclists at the Chelsea Road intersection.
Member for Capalaba Don Brown says the report confirms what local motorists have been saying for years.
“Everyone regularly using this road has known how bad it is but for a suburban road to be in the top five for the State and grouped with Highways is disgraceful” he said.
The results of the report will help road authorities identify problems and support improvements to neglected roads.
The Bruce Highway tops the list of the most complained about roads; nominated for rough, narrow conditions, congestion and sections which are constantly cut off by floodwater.
